The Public Health Association of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island (NB/PEI) is affiliated with our parent organization, the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA). The CPHA is the leading independent, non-profit voice for public health in Canada. We are a volunteer-run organization of professionals working in various fields related to public health. Our organization aims to improve the health of NB and PEI populations through advocacy, education, and leadership in public health.
The PHA-NBPEI members believe in universal and equitable access to the basic conditions that are necessary to achieve health for all. We are in the process of undergoing organizational restructuring. After Fall of 2016, we will potentially be composed of three main membership groups: board members, working group members, and general members. The board members serve on our volunteer Board of Directors and govern the operations of the organization. We may eventually have several working groups, each with a Chair and Secretary, that carry out the various activities of the organization. Our general membership is open to anyone with an interest in public health who would like to be part of the association.
